HALO jump - Europes highest skydive

If you are looking for an adrenaline-filled experience that is extraordinarily unique, then you should definately participate in our HALO Boogie and do a HALO skydive. This spectacular event gives both experienced skydivers and tandem guests the opportunity to jump from 25,000 feet. It's not just a regular skydive; it's an experience of a lifetime!

What is a HALO skydive?

HALO stands for High Altitude - Low Opening, a skydiving technique that was actually developed by the military to enable rapid descent without being detected. In principle, the vast majority of skydives, or all those where there is some free fall, are HALO jumps. But for the jumps we call HALO skydives, we use an oxygen system called HALO2, and that's where they get their name from.

The skydivers jump out of the plane from 25,000 feet and wait as long as possible to unfold their parachute. This makes a HALO skydive a unique activity that requires both careful planning and preparation to ensure that everyone involved has a safe and an enjoyable experience.

The team behind the event will be led by world-class skydiver Paul Henry de Baér, also known as PH. He is responsible for skydives at Everest as well as a number of other expeditions. PH has also performed skydives on all 7 continents, including Antarctica - all in just 7 months. 7 skydives, 7 continents, 7 months.

Since the jump takes place at such a high altitude, it requires the use of oxygen during the entire experience. This means that you will need an oxygen system that is adapted to the high jumps. The system we use is called HALO2. It has been specially developed by a group of specialists, including PH, for skydiving to maximize your safety and comfort during the jump.

How high is a HALO jump?

A HALO jump here at Dropzone Denmark is 25.000 feet. Which makes it the highest skydive in Europe.

How fast do you fall during a HALO skydive?

When you jump from a height of 25,000 ft, you get up to two minutes in free fall, where you can reach speeds of up to approx. 550 km per hour or 340 miles per hour. Imagine the feeling of freedom and euphoria as you dive towards the ground at a speed almost unheard of!

What are the requirements for to able to do a HALO jump?

In order to make a solo HALO skydive, you must have obtained a USPA-C license or similar. This means that you must have made at least 200 jumps.

If you do not meet the requirements for a solo HALO skydive, we of course also offer tandem HALO jumps. As always, you must be in good health to be able to perform a skydive in general, but be aware that a HALO skydive has a greater strain on the body due to its intense nature. If you are in doubt, you are always welcome to contact us.

Is a HALO skydive safe?

A HALO jump is undoubtedly one of the most dangerous skydive you can do, both as a sport jump, but also with regard to a tandem jump.

The risk of hypoxia is high and therefore the right equipment, planning and thorough preparation are of the utmost importance for your safety.

With PH and his team, who specialize in HALO skydiving, you will be able to feel safe during the entire experience here at Dropzone Denmark. All participants go through a thorough briefing before the jump, so you are fully aware of what awaits you. In addition, the equipment used is state-of-the-art and undergoes regular safety tests to ensure that everything is in the best possible condition.

Everything is thoroughly checked, cross-checked and triple-checked on the ground before you get on the plane, in the plane and right before you jump. No chances are taken, so if at any time there will be any doubt regarding equipment, participant or otherwise, it will put an end to a HALO jump. This applies to both equipment and the state of the jumper.

HALO boogie - much more than "just" an event

A HALO jump is significantly different from a "normal" skydive. Although you may have hundreds of jumps behind you or have tried a tandem jump before, a HALO skydive will give you a completely different and a more intense experience.

HALO Boogie is a social event where you can meet like-minded adventurers from around the world. It is a great opportunity to network with other skydivers and share experiences. It's the perfect way to participate in an activity that time and time again brings people together through their shared passion for skydiving.

When is the next HALO boogie?

The upcoming HALO BOOGIE will take place in week 32 of 2025, from Wednesday August 6th to Sunday the 10th. Registration will open soon, but you can already register for our event on Facebook. That way, you can follow when the registration starts.
